Tie The Overhand Loop

The Over Hand Loop has many uses including; Hair Rig Loops, Rig Loops, Loop to Loop Line Joining and more...

Below are three steps to tying the Over Hand Loop...

In this example, I have used 'Sufix Camo Skin' as it shows well for the photographs. It works well for nylon, dacron, backing, braid and most leader lines.

Step 1

Make a loop of line long enough to work with but not so long you have to cut lots away when trimming off.
Take the loop and form a simple 'loose' granny knot.

Step 2

Pass the loop through the granny knot again.

Step 3

Draw the loop tight and trim off the loose end. Remember, if you're using nylon to wet the knot with a little saliva before drawing tight otherwise you'll weaken the knot considerably and probably lose a fish or tackle or both...
