Hair Rig Bread Flake
Bread flake is simply not used anywhere near as much today as it used to be...
This is largely due to the growing number of ready-made baits.
As a result many fish simply don't see bread flake and therefore do NOT get wise to it.
Take advantage of that and have a go using Bread Flake on your next day fishing, but go one better and use it on a hair rig. Here's how...
Step 1
When making your hair rig using the Knotless Knot, add a size 4 split shot to the hair loop.
Note... Using split shot counter balances the buoyancy of the flake. If you want a pop-up, use a bead instead of split shot
Step 2
Tear a postage stamp sized piece of fresh bread. I've used white here, brown is just as good.
Step 3
Position the split shot as shown...
Step 4
Form the bread carefully around the shot. Fresh bread works brilliantly.
Leave plenty of un-squeezed bread for the flake...
Step 5
Fold the last bottom edge around the split shot and pinch gently...
Step 6
Ready to cast
Add this to a Bread Mash Method Feeder for a real killer method...
